Learning From the Greats — Joe Vigil

To achieve our full potential, developing personal values is imperative. Once established, these values assist in defining short and long-term goals. It doesn’t matter what the goals are. The intent is to develop a sense of purpose.

— Joe Vigil

Joe Vigil is one of the all-time great distance running coaches…his record at Adams State College and with professional runners is filled with championships, records, and accolades that are a mile long.

One of the things that always stands out to me is how his Adams State College team perfect scored the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 1992. That’s never been done before at an NCAA National Championship.

I believe the quote above is the genius of Coach Vigil…everything that we are is so much stronger when there is a purpose behind it.
