Workout of the Day — Julia Pieper

2 x (4 x 300 meters)

Recovery: 100 meter walk between reps and 5 min rest between sets. 

Splits: 54, 53, 54, 53, 52, 53, 54, 54

This was Julia’s ‘last’ workout before her season’s best 3000 meter performance to conclude her long year of training and racing. It’s a simple session…faster than 1500 meter pace, but low on volume, short reps, and plenty of rest…it was 8 days out from her race and seemed to be just what she needed to feel good and to feel fast.

The assigned paces were to be 54-56 seconds and as you can see she was a bit fast on those, but hey, when the weather’s nice and you are feeling good, sometimes you just roll with it.
