Learning From the Greats — Mark Wetmore

“I don’t need to build you up. I don’t want you to leave here smashing your head against the wall. Be businesslike, patient, and methodical. Do a little head smashing every day for 100 days.”

Mark Wetmore, September 18th, 1998

Running with the Buffaloes is one of my all-time favorite running books, and Mark Wetmore is one of the most brilliant coaches in the world. This quote here is pure gold. If we could convince EVERYONE to be businesslike, patient, and methodical in their training and racing then we’d be pretty good.

Days on top of days.
