Keep it simple…

I’ve written about this before, but it’s a reminder that you’ve got to keep it simple.

Racing season is coming for most of my athletes…and for some, it’s already here. And I get a lot of, “I don’t feel prepared…” or, “I don’t think I’m ready…” And typically that’s associated with the fact that we’ve done work that is very simple…

But, as a great man once said, simple ain’t easy.

Running is so simple. You’ve got to get fit…and you do that through running good and appropriate mileage. You’ve got to get strong…aerobically and muscularly…and we do that through good tempo and progression work (aerobically) and through hill repetitions (muscularly)…and finally yo have to get fast…and we do that through hills and 200 meter repetitions.

What I described above is simple work; but what I described above is GOOD work.

Keep it simple and be prepared.
